Engineering at the point of impact.

Where steel meets science, and practical engineering meets smart software. We transform complex rolling challenges into solutions that work on the shop floor.

Who we are

Two engineers. One name. A common obsession with making things work.

Founded in spirit by Sergey and Josafat, Sergafat LLC brings together engineering know-how, a passion for steel processing, and an enthusiasm for turning complicated calculations into useful tools.

We believe the strongest engineering solutions combine first principles, rigorous analysis, and the reality of manufacturing. Whether the challenge is a rolling force calculation, process optimization, or software that saves hours of manual work, we approach it with the same mindset: understand the physics, build the solution, validate the result.

“We don't just think outside the box. We calculate the forces acting on the box.”
Our capabilities

What we bring to the mill.

A focused blend of practical industrial experience, analytical engineering, and digital problem-solving.

01 / STEEL

Steel Processing

Material behavior, deformation, grades, process feasibility, and the decisions that turn a challenging product into a manufacturable one.

02 / ROLLING

Rolling Technology

Rolling force, roll gap, strip thickness, profile design, mill constraints, and process optimization grounded in mechanics.

03 / SOFTWARE

Engineering Software

Purpose-built calculators, simulation tools, intuitive interfaces, and automation that make engineering decisions faster and clearer.

04 / ANALYTICS

Modeling & Simulation

Physics-based models, sensitivity studies, and data visualization to make complicated process behavior understandable.

05 / IMPROVEMENT

Process Improvement

Find the bottleneck, challenge the assumptions, reduce unnecessary trial and error, and improve process robustness.

06 / INTEGRATION

Practical Solutions

Bridging engineering theory with the actual machines, controls, operators, and production conditions that matter.

Our core values

Corporate buzzwords. Actual engineering principles.

Because every respectable company needs a values section. We decided ours should mean something.

Precision over PowerPoint

Pretty slides are welcome. Correct calculations are mandatory.

Physics First

Opinions are negotiable. Conservation laws are not.

Practical Innovation

If it only works in a spreadsheet, it isn't finished.

Radical Clarity

Complex engineering deserves simple, honest explanations.

Continuous Improvement

There is always a better setup, cleaner model, or smarter line of code.

Synergy (Unfortunately)

We combine steel, mechanics, and software. Yes, this is technically synergy.

Our philosophy

Big-picture thinking. Micrometer-level attention to detail.

We operate at the intersection of metallurgy, mechanical engineering, and software development, creating solutions designed for the real world—not just the executive summary.

Workplace Bullying & Harassment Awareness

At Sergafat LLC, our people are our most valuable asset. We are committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and psychologically supportive workplace where everyone feels respected, empowered, and free to bring their authentic selves to work.

Every voice matters. Every colleague deserves dignity. And every challenging break-room situation is an opportunity to demonstrate our core values through proactive communication and stakeholder alignment.

Knowledge Check · Question 1 of 1

You meet your coworker Jill in the break room, and she is heating fish again.

Can you say, “Get out of here, stinky bitch”?

Select your answer to demonstrate your commitment to workplace excellence.

Is this appropriate workplace communication?

Quality Excellence & Continuous Improvement

At Sergafat LLC, quality is not just a department. It is a mindset, a journey, and an ever-evolving commitment to operational excellence. We strive to exceed customer expectations through robust processes, proactive collaboration, and world-class stakeholder alignment.

Our First-Time-Right culture empowers every team member to champion continuous improvement, drive meaningful KPIs, and turn challenges into opportunities. Remember: quality begins with you, not with the color of the dashboard.

Knowledge Check · Question 1 of 1

A steel coil is 0.2 mm outside the customer's thickness tolerance. The truck is waiting, and the monthly quality dashboard is looking beautifully green.

Can you change the inspection report to “PASS” and ship it anyway?

Select your answer to demonstrate your dedication to world-class quality excellence.

Is this an acceptable quality management practice?

Workplace Communication: Welcoming a Late Colleague

At Sergafat LLC, we believe that every interaction is a leadership opportunity. A colleague arriving late is not an inconvenience. It is a chance to demonstrate emotional intelligence, psychological safety, and enterprise-grade verbal alignment.

Our communication framework encourages team members to replace reactive judgment with proactive curiosity, while keeping sarcasm safely inside the training materials.

Real-world scenario · Collaboration in action

Your colleague arrives at work late. The team has already been there for hours. Which of the following remarks would be appropriate to say out loud?

Assess each statement: Is it appropriate workplace communication?
  1. “Oh look, the night shift is here!”

    Appropriate to say?
  2. “Good afternoon! Did your alarm clock take a personal day?”

    Appropriate to say?
  3. “Welcome! We almost sent a search-and-rescue team.”

    Appropriate to say?
  4. “Should we reschedule the 8:00 a.m. meeting to your time zone?”

    Appropriate to say?
  5. “Look who decided to honor us with their presence!”

    Appropriate to say?
  6. “No rush. We have only been here since the Industrial Revolution.”

    Appropriate to say?
  7. “Did you stop for breakfast on another continent?”

    Appropriate to say?

Cold Rolling Force Calculator

v1.4 · Numerical slab/Bland–Ford-type calculation with Hollomon work hardening, prerolling, strip tensions and iterative roll flattening. Runs entirely in this web page.

Material and rolling parameters
Strip tension
Model uses 601 points along the arc of contact
Roll force—kN
Equivalent flattened WR diameter—mm
Arc of contact—mm
Neutral point from exit—mm
Forward slip—ratio
Screwdown (mill modulus 4,200 kN/mm)—mm
Pressure distribution
All X axes: 0 = strip exit; maximum arc length = strip entry. Dashed vertical line marks the neutral point.
Engineering estimate, not validated against production measurements. The equivalent flattened diameter represents contact curvature, not the physical work-roll outside diameter. Calculations remain on your device; this static page does not upload input data.
